This collection of vintage 1930s T G Green Streamline kitchen storage jars is currently up for sale on eBay for Charity in support of Yorkshire Cat Rescue (formerly Haworth Cat Rescue).*
They’re for sale singly, with a starting bid of £25 each; some already have a couple of bids on them. They’d look fabulous in a vintage, 30s inspired kitchen, perhaps sitting in an original kitchenette from the era. They all end tomorrow evening so get your skates on if you’re interested!

A vintage Ercol sofa is at or near the top of many a mid century modern fan’s furniture wish list. This one’s being sold by St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice*. It needs new cushion covers and one of its legs is slightly damaged, but its webbing looks to be in great nick… and with a starting bid of £49.99, it’s still a bargain! It’s offered as a “collection only” item from their warehouse in Winsford, Cheshire.
*St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice provides palliative and specialist palliative care to those adult patients with life threatening or life limiting disease. The emphasis of care is on the promotion of dignity and quality of life for patients, and support for family and friends during and after the illness. Care may be as an outpatient attending Hospice Day Care, Complementary Therapy Clinic or Lymphoedema Clinic or inpatient admitted for symptom control, health assessment or terminal care.

We’ve mentioned Kenneth Townsend quite a lot in blogs in the past – he’s one of our favourite designers. His “Menagerie” series of tiles are very collectable and much sought after. Here’s a lot of five Kenneth Townsend “Menagerie” tiles for sale on eBay in support of The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home*.

Keeping with the music theme from last week’s Charity Vintage choice, we’ve spotted this fab vintage Columbia portable record player being sold in support of Thames Hospicecare*
The perfect partner for going round early morning car boot sales in search of rare vinyl!

Neither of us here at chez H is for Home can play a musical instrument (although I once learned to play Greensleeves and London’s Burning on the recorder).
This vintage Organetta being sold on eBay by Martlets Hospice* caught our eye because of its great colour. If it’s piqued your interest and you think it would make a good keyboard for your child to learn to play – buyer beware – its volume control doesn’t work… and it’s stuck on full volume!
*The Martlets Hospice is an independent charity, caring for adults with a life limiting disease where a cure is no longer possible, in the Brighton & Hove area. Specialist palliative care is provided for patients. Support is given to families & carers during the patients’ illness and into bereavement.
