What are the best fire table shapes for different patio layouts? The top 5 options

What are the best fire table shapes for different patio layouts? The top 5 options

When you’re planning the perfect patio layout, the shape of your fire table plays a key role in the overall design. Different patio sizes and styles may call for specific fire table shapes; like round, square or rectangular. Understanding the benefits and uses of each shape can help you make the best choice for your outdoor space.

Round fire tables are popular due to their ability to provide a cosy, social gathering point. These tables allow everyone to enjoy the warmth evenly, making them a great choice for intimate settings. Whether you’re looking to create a dining area or a relaxed seating space, exploring fire tables for different patio layouts can offer plenty of inspiration and options.

Round fire tables: Perfect for central placement in circular patios

Round fire tables are a great choice when you have a circular patio. They fit naturally into the shape of the space, giving a pleasing look.

These tables distribute heat evenly, making them ideal for gatherings. You and your guests can enjoy sitting around the table with warmth, reaching everyone equally.

When placed at the centre of the patio, a round fire table becomes a focal point. It encourages conversation and creates a cosy atmosphere. The design lets everyone have an easy, clear view of the fire.

If you’re deciding on patio furniture, consider how you’ll arrange seating. Adirondack chairs or curved sectionals pair well, improving both function and style.

Square fire tables: Ideal for corner setups in symmetric patio layouts

Square fire tables with symmetrical designs are a great choice for patios. Their equal sides make it easy to fit them in a corner or centre spot, creating balance in your outdoor area.

If your patio has sharp lines and angles, a square fire table can match this look perfectly. It gives a modern feel, adding a clean and organised touch to your space. With various options, you can find one that matches your style and needs.

These tables often provide a central point for gatherings. Their shape allows seating on all sides, which is perfect for social events. Whether you’re enjoying a quiet evening or hosting friends, square fire tables offer a cosy atmosphere.

Consider materials like concrete or metal for durability. Many designs come in versatile colours, making it easy to coordinate with other patio furniture.

Rectangular fire tables: Suited for narrow patios or elongated spaces

Rectangular fire tables are a great choice for long or narrow patios. Their shape makes them perfect for saving space while still providing a cosy area for gatherings. These tables can fit along the length of a patio, allowing you to use your outdoor areas more efficiently.

In elongated spaces, a rectangular fire table can become the centrepiece. It offers plenty of room for people to sit around, making it ideal for larger gatherings. Whether entertaining guests or enjoying a quiet evening, these tables can meet different needs.

For long patios, consider placing rectangular fire tables along one side. This placement allows for easy movement around the table, making it a versatile option for various patio layouts. Whether your patio is narrow or elongated, rectangular fire tables can help maximise the space and provide a great spot for relaxation.

Hexagonal fire tables: A unique choice for eclectic or modern patio designs

When you want to add a unique touch to your patio, hexagonal fire tables are a great choice. Their shape stands out, making them perfect for modern and eclectic designs. These tables can be a focal point in your outdoor space, drawing attention and sparking conversations.

Their geometric shape complements various patio setups. If you have curved seating arrangements or an eclectic mix of furniture, a hexagonal fire table can fit well. It brings an interesting visual contrast that adds character.

Another advantage of hexagonal fire tables is their ability to provide warmth and style without taking up too much space. They’re functional and stylish, offering a cosy place for gatherings.

Oval fire tables: Complement larger patios with soft lines and ample space

Oval fire tables are a great choice for larger patios. Their curved edges provide a smooth look that can soften the overall appearance of your outdoor space. These shapes work well when you want a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.

The size of oval tables allows for more guests to gather around comfortably. This makes them perfect for hosting gatherings or family get-togethers. The ample space creates room for chairs without feeling cramped.

Choosing an oval fire table can also add a unique style to your patio. Its shape stands out compared to more traditional square or round options. If you have a spacious patio layout, this may be a good fit.

Oval tables are available in various materials. Whether you prefer a classic or modern look, you’ll find an option that suits your taste. These tables can be a centrepiece in your outdoor area, drawing attention without overpowering the space.

Conclusion

When choosing a fire table for your patio, the shape plays a big role in both function and design.

Round fire tables create an intimate atmosphere and are great for smaller gatherings. They also fit well in tight spaces, like circular or smaller patios.

Square or rectangular fire tables are more suitable for larger areas. Their linear design complements modern patios and allows for more seating options.

Select a shape that complements your outdoor space and fits your lifestyle needs.

5 factors to consider when buying your wooden garden parasols

5 factors to consider when buying your wooden garden parasols

A garden parasol can add a beautiful finishing touch to your picturesque outdoor setting. Could you imagine a place you wouldn’t mind lounging in for hours? Right in your very own backyard, too? A garden that’s Pinterest-worthy and induces feelings of calm, peace and serenity at the same time. The perfect place where you could unwind during the weekend, while enjoying some fresh air outdoors.

While we love spending a lot of time outdoors, we must protect ourselves and our furniture from the intense and harsh UV rays of the sun (yes, even your furniture needs to be protected). Too much heat will damage your furniture faster than it should, and luckily, there’s one piece of outdoor furniture that’s a solution to this problem. Have you ever considered getting one of those wooden garden parasols?

The wooden parasols you’ll find today are absolutely stunning. They’re of premium quality, and they come in a range of hues to suit every individual’s personal taste and colour preference. Red, blue, dark green or classic white, whatever colour you choose, every shade will look incredibly beautiful in your garden. Do you want to know why? It’s going to add that pop of colour to your wooden outdoor furniture. Even if you don’t have wooden outdoor furniture, wooden parasols are a great addition either way because of how sturdy and durable they are.

Before you set out in search of the perfect garden parasol to purchase, here are five things you want to look out for during your research.

Garden table and armchairs with parasol

  • Selecting the size of your parasol – In this case, size really does matter. The bigger your parasol, the more shade and coverage it’s going to provide. The size of your parasol will depend on how big a space you’re working with, and how much coverage you want for your outdoor furniture. The coverage should be focused on the furniture areas where you plan to spend most of your time outdoors. This is typically the table, chair or bench area since what we typically do when outdoors is sitting and relaxing. Consider both the height and the diameter of the parasol you want to get. Measure your outdoor area and work out what the best size would be for your space. Many parasols these days have an adjustable height option, and the diameter is going to range between two to four meters and more.
  • Don’t forget about the passageway width and height – If the set-up of your outdoor space involves a walkway that might become a bit too cluttered once the parasol has been opened, that should be factored into consideration, too. This would depend entirely on your home’s design since not all gardens are designed in the same way. Some gardens have wide-open spaces and, for some gardens, you’ll have to make do with a smaller area in your backyard.
  • The material of your canopy – The wooden part of your parasol will be the stand and the frame. The canopy part of your parasol is generally made from polyester. While the material isn’t too bad, the colour tends to fade after three years or so. If you prefer something a little sturdier, consider olefin or acrylic as the material for your canopy since they last much longer than the polyester ones. Some fading is still going to occur, but this time, your parasol is going to last you for at least five years. Depending on how you use your parasol, it could actually last a little longer than that. A general rule of thumb is that olefin and acrylic do come with a longer lifespan, but like everything else, nothing is going to last forever.
  • The rotation option – Some garden parasols these days come with the option to rotate them. This can be the perfect solution if you’re hoping for something you can adjust to follow the sun’s rays as it moves throughout the day. Don’t forget to consider how much available space you have to work with, and whether a rotating parasol is a viable option or not. Some parasols can rotate 360 degrees, and this works really well for wide-open and spacious areas. As long as there’s no obstacle that will prevent your parasol from rotating full circle, this is something to look out for when narrowing down your list of parasol options.
  • The parasol style – Don’t you just love how we have an option for almost everything these days? It’s not just one or two options, but several options that sometimes, we end up spoilt for choice. Parasols are no exception. Since every home deserves a beautiful garden with equally beautiful-looking furniture to complement your natural outdoor setting, you could opt for a style of a parasol that’s going to enhance the entire look of your garden. The garden parasol style options include the upright parasol styles, cantilever parasols, and the tilting parasol design. Every style has its pros, and it would depend on your vision for your garden. The upright parasol choice is one where the pole stands right in the canopy centre. On the other hand, the cantilever parasols have the pole standing to the side of the canopy. This way, it isn’t going to obstruct your outdoor seating arrangement. Finally, you have the tilting parasol design. This type is similar to the upright garden parasol, except this one comes with a 360-degree rotation. This means you can change the angle of the parasol to follow the movement of the sun.

Garden parasols, especially the wooden variety, can be a fantastic new addition to any garden set-up. Not only do they make your outdoor space more practical and inviting, but it also adds a little bit of class and charm to the setting. If you think your outdoor garden furniture is perfect now, wait until you add a parasol to the equation! It makes a tremendous difference to the overall look and feel of the entire area.

Price Points: Outdoor folding chairs

Outdoor folding chairs

We’ve been walking in the great outdoors three times this week in almost as many days; we’ve really been taking advantage of this little patch of late summer sunshine. A couple of outdoor folding chairs – kept in the boot of the car for impromptu stops – would be a great addition for days like these.

They’d need to be waterproof… it’s going to rain at some point, that’s guaranteed. They’d also have to be lightweight; we may have to park a long way away from where we plan to sit. Chairs made of hollow aluminium with woven plastic seats & backrests are our best bet.

The three pictured tick all the boxes. The seagull outdoor folding chair is really cute, the green one is a favourite colour and the yellow one is just drop-dead gorgeous. Much as I’m in love with the D4E, the fifteen hundred pound each price tag would mean that we’d be worried that we’d damage them. They’d be out in the elements; on the beach, in sand and sea spray. We’ll be sitting in them in wet swimming gear. Perhaps one of the other two would be the better options.

It’s been a record-breaking hot, dry summer for the most part this year. Instagram is full of gorgeous images of outdoor spaces – and this decked clapboard patio is one of them.

It just shows that you don’t need a whole lot of room to create an outdoor space that is attractive and usable. The weathered wooden planks used on the ground, walls and overhead bring the whole area together. The matte metal accessories such as the storm lamp, hanging planter and bird cage give a utilitarian feel. The yellow painted rattan table & chairs are weather-resistant so can stay outdoors all year. It’s much easier just having to bring in the cushions and throw; even the reversible rug can stand up to the doubtless rainy days to come.
