We had a bit of a jigsaw bonanza at the market last week.
It started with this gorgeous London bus dating from the 1960s…
…very Kenneth Townsend in style.
Then we found a couple of classic children’s TV jigsaws.
First up is Trumpton with Captain Snort, Doctor Mopp and Windy Miller to name just a few. Who remembers the firemen’s roll call? Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble & Grub!
Followed by The Magic Roundabout – Dougal, Dylan, Ermintrude and friends.
Ahhhh… the memories come flooding back from our Watch with Mother days in the late 60s & early 70s.
‘Time for bed’ said Zebedee!
how cute are they!they remind me of my sweet childhood!
Such fun!
Happy blogoversary 🙂
Hi,
So glad you like the bus as it was designed by my father, John Miles – yes, in the 60's! He would have been so thrilled to see it on your website.

I had this puzzle and have very fond memories of it. It was part of my childhood! We recently found it in my dad’s garage. It is missing 2 pieces and he is making new ones. We are glad to have your photo as a reference!
Glad to be of service! Which one of the jigsaws do you have?
Sorry! I meant to type bus puzzle. My parents are from England but moved to the US in the mid 60s. We are thinking that one of our relatives gave us the puzzle. I love that thanks to your blog, we now know that it was designed by John Miles! I looked at some of his cartoons online and the style is the same – especially the noses.
Ooh, we love the bus one. We kept it for ourselves for a long while before listing it in our shop x
Is this the information you found?
