Not a lot about Tugomir Huberger could be found online. He was born in Zagreb, Yugoslavia (now Croatia) in 1931. Some sites site him as passing away in Erlangen, Germany in 2001; others show him to still be living. Apparently, he studied in Paris.
We were drawn to him because of the similarity of his style to Bernard Buffet and Charles Levier. Saying that, on further investigation, we discovered that he had at least three styles – we prefer the style he used for the top three artworks in the collage above.

….Tugomir Huberger, a 36 year old Yugoslav, now living at Erlangen, Germany, paints on fur. Says the artist “It is important that the hair of fur does not stick together. each hair has to remain alive” Tugomir recently sold a fur cape painted with abstract patterns for 25,000 DM.
