Get their look: Navy kitchen

We’ve really been enjoying Amandalisa’s Instagram feed as she shares her journey through her navy kitchen remodel project down there in South Wales. The result is a very classy, grown up kitchen – and very practical too. It’s fashionable, without being faddy. It looks robust and built to last, so its elegant looks should stand the test of time.

We love the way the dark blue contrasts with the crisp white – and the geometric splash-back tiles cleverly pull everything together. The statement pendant light is a triumph – a real show-stopper. The metallic accents and natural wood tones also work really well in the scheme – even small details like the cupboard handles catch the eye. And you can’t beat a bit of greenery or some fresh cut flowers to add life and vibrancy to a space.

It looks like a great kitchen to cook and entertain – a very successful re-model!

Blue isn’t our obvious ‘go to’ colour for interior decoration, however, this blue & copper kitchen is just soooo gorgeous!

It may be compact, but what it doesn’t have in space it more than makes up for in style. Copper fixtures & fittings make a welcome change from the usual stainless steel. The cupboards and shelves are all handmade and those tiles… those tiles! The turquoise scallop tiled wall is the star of the show. The shades of blue work so well with the walnut wood.

Wraparound shelves and work surfaces are kept clear of all but the most necessary and oft used of items – kettle, bread bin, mugs, knives and utensils. Keeping clutter at bay helps to keep the space light and airy.

Get their look: Moody blue bedroom

We’re still having a love affair with dark painted walls – and our own house has quite large expanses of these shades.

This moody blue bedroom looks like an amazing place in which to go to sleep and wake up.

The décor is quite eclectic. There are pieces of vintage mid century looking furniture such as the peacock chair and splayed leg bedside table; what looks like a lovely antique Persian rug; also, more contemporary textiles as seen in the gorgeous bedding, cushions and light shades. Along with the warm Scandi furs, these softer textures contrast beautifully with the industrial touches such as the cast iron radiator, distressed paintwork and bare bulb light fittings.

We think the room is very successful indeed – the matt, inky green blue makes the perfect backdrop for this wonderful mix of materials and brighter highlight shades.

Get their look: Shades of blue sitting room

Shades of blue sitting roomcredit

This blue sitting room is stunning!

Deep marine blue panelled walls and door gives the space a real sense of style. The tonal, buttoned sofa in plush velvet provides sumptuous texture.

The painted surfaces contrast wonderfully with the gold coloured statement trumpet pendant light and metallic nest of tables. The flashes of yellow provided by the throw, patterned cushion and hardback book also work very well and balance the room nicely.

An indigo feather Cameroonian juju hat (read more about its origins here) provides a beautiful centrepiece.

The overall feel is luxurious and dramatic… and very successful indeed.
