Crittall windows always look fabulous installed in a vintage industrial or other urban interior – just as they do in the photo above.

They can be used as a wall and/or doors leading outdoors or leading from one room into another. Crittall framed glass allow so much natural light through a house – especially if they’re put in floor to ceiling. If you dare, leave them unadorned – without curtains or blinds – to appreciate their beauty… and the view!

I admire anyone that can maintain, at all times, the good looks of a sleek, modern kitchen. Our lives involve a constant battle to keep unnecessary stuff and detritus cluttering up the work surfaces. The washing up always needs either doing or putting away.

This kitchen space makes me feel calm and content; it’s a place I’d love to linger a little.

Keeping simply a minimalist kettle and toaster out on display, for me at least, would be a(n impossible) dream. Much as I really appreciate the ethos, I don’t think I’m ready to be KonMari‘d just yet… perhaps I’ll muster up the courage one day!

There are a few kitchen jobs where an apron is a must-wear. For me, it’s making jams and jellies; the bright red liquid splashes everywhere when pouring it into the straining bag. Another culprit is when I’m frying off tofu; even after it’s been drained and squeezed dry, it splutters and spits all over the cooker and whatever I happen to be wearing.
