Peach Palacecredit

Laura Horstmann’s rental home has recently been featured on Apartment Therapy. In the interview, she reveals that she calls her apartment the”Peach Palace”.

It’s not surprising that Laura has a real eye for colour – she’s a graphic designer, collage artist and all-round creative gal! She utilised the unexpected spare time she had during the pandemic to redecorate her entire 3-bedroom home. She shares some great interiors advice, including shopping in the kids’ department for fun and unexpected fixtures and furniture.

Go check out the rest of the photos (and a video) from her colourful house tour over on the Apartment Therapy website.

Tom Bax, aka ‘The Mellow Maximalist’ has been on Instagram less than 8 weeks, yet he has amassed almost three and a half thousand followers. It’s not hard to see why, his colourful London home is attention grabbing.

It’s a really sociable space, with no end of comfortable seating from which to choose to sit. Tom’s flat is part of a restored workhouse in Bow, in the East End of the city; the rooms are huge, the ceilings lofty and the entrance staircase is breathtaking. Mel and Ollie’s… (and Milo, the gorgeous Miniature Goldendoodle’s) Essex pad is a calming oasis with a natural touch. In their own words, it’s “Boho | Coastal | Neutral | Texture”.

Their home is full of lovely, crafty details such as the stunning macramé wall hanging, water hyacinth serving tray, rush basket and plumes of pampas grass flowers.

The palette throughout is all soft creams and natural browns with flashes of rust here & there. Go check out the rest of their Insta-squares! And while you’re at it, Milo has his own account too – your heart will melt!

A post shared by Jo at Cloud Nine Interiors (@cloud_nine_interiors)

Jo from Cloud Nine Interiors lives in a 1940s semi-detached house in Leicester. The pink and green Art Deco vibe harks back to a slightly earlier age.

Although not an era that we feature very often, this sitting room nails it perfectly. The décor acknowledges the epoch without following it slavishly. The combination of soft pink and emerald green is a classic Art Deco colour pairing.

The use of plush velvet fabric on the sofa and cushions and gold coloured metal accessories give a sense of luxury and opulence. The two gold metal wall art pieces are contemporary; however, the form and typeface have a very Art Deco vibe.

Finally, the cheetah – along with other similar wildcats – were popular motifs of the time. They’re used in this room on cushions and wall art. Figures were used as car mascots, adorned jewellery and the real, live thing were used as fashion accessories.
