There’s something about bold, bright colour against a dark grey background – it just catches the eye and looks stunning! The capture of this Instagram square, in a circular wall mirror adds to the impact of the image.

The use of simple beading on a plain, flat wall gives the impression of wood panelling and lends a touch of glamour. The glamour is followed through by the use of tactile velvet in the chaise and lampshades. The blocks of colour are broken up by the pair of statement cushions.

I wouldn’t mind reclining in a languid fashion in this room!

Some days, I love a minimalist interior decorated in pale, soft, earthy shades. At other times, I’m drawn to a punchy, bright, busy space such as this Technicolour Christmas lounge.

The tall, red tree takes centre stage surrounded by furniture and festive decorations in primary colours.

This velvet rich lounge has a private member’s club feel. All dark painted panelled walls, deep winged armchairs and low coffee tables.

It looks like a lovely place to relax. Books, art and views from the huge window. There are comfortable, luxurious furnishings to enjoy it all from… and a well-stocked drinks trolley too!

It’s on the books of UK Locations, an agency that represents properties in the north of England that available for photo & film shoots.

We’ve just come across this lovely home on the Apartment Therapy website. The owner, Marika Frumes, calls it her ‘Scandinavian urban farmhouse’ – I know just what she means!

It’s a loft apartment in the middle of Manhattan, but it has a laid back country vibe. The leather corner sofa, oversized pouffes and sheepskin throw make it feel like New Mexico rather than New York.

The tan colour of those wonderful beams and window frames is picked up, not only in the leather but also in the rocker and high shelving. It’s broken up with the greenery of the houseplants. The plain, whitewashed brick walls are the perfect backdrop. Swipe for more views of her lovely home!
