It seems a long time ago that photographer Simon Whitmore & stylist Sally Denning from Ideal Home Magazine spent the day here – so much has happened since!!

The October 2012 Ideal Home magazine dropped through the letter box this morning – there’s a lovely article with lots of images and an interview by Joanna Simmons. We talk about the alterations we made to the house, the features we like and its eclectic contents. It’s certainly nice to see what the place looked like pre-flood!

More Midcentury

We recently blogged about the first edition of a new magazine devoted to all things midcentury modern.

It’s an era close to our hearts – we like to intersperse pieces amongst our rustic & country furniture – it’s a look we love. If you’re fellow fans, here’s a link to some of our current MCM stock.

N.E.E.T.

We were really pleased to be asked by Stephanie J if she could feature our home in N.E.E.T. – a free, quarterly, online, non-profit design & fashion magazine.

According to their FAQ page, “N.E.E.T. came about in 2005 as an online publication dedicated to showcasing independent talent – design, art, and general fantastic originality. N.E.E.T. is the first of its kind, online, free and packed with everyone from a crafter creating from their kitchen table, to a fashion design graduate straight out of college, to a team of people doing it for the love of it.”

There are over 200 pages of vintage & indie loveliness – it’s chock-ful of fashion, craft, photography, shopping, interviews, recipes and more…

A band of really talented, international contributors makes this magazine one of the best quality publications out there on the net.

Although it seems as though print magazines have been and will be around forever, e-zines have a growing presence. Their influence is sure to spread! Here are a couple of our other current faves:
