We keep featuring gorgeous vintage children’s toy appliances listed on eBay for Charity. This sweet Heiliger oven being sold by & on behalf of Woking Hospice* is joining that club! It’s electric and still fully working. You could possibly bake a single cupcake in its oven but it has 3 rings on the hob – enough to attempt a full English breakfast!

Remember the Vulcan sewing machine and the Illco kitchen we’ve blogged about? We could find a lovely vintage doll’s house and furnish it with finds like these!

*The Woking Hospice exists to provide and promote the highest quality care possible for people with advanced terminal illnesses, and to provide help and support to their families and other individuals important to their care.

Charity Vintage: Clackers

vintage clackers for sale on eBay for Charity in support of St Barnabas Hospice Trust

Isn’t it funny how little things can take you hurtling to a particular point in your life? These vintage clackers (I remember them as click clacks) did just that!

During one particular year whilst I was at primary school EVERYONE had a pair of these on the go in the playground at lunchtime – the noise was deafening! That wouldn’t happen nowadays (cue much head-shaking and tutting) – what with health & safety regulations and all that.

If you fancy revisiting your childhood – or getting them for your child (Christmas is fast approaching) – they’re currently for sale on eBay for charity in support of St Barnabas Hospice Trust* in Lincoln. Go on… you know you want to see if you’ve still got the knack! 🙂

*St Barnabas Hospice Trust (Lincolnshire) aims to provide for the people of Lincolnshire a specialist palliative care service of the highest quality. The focus of the service provided will be centred around the needs of the patients and carers in a co-ordinated, integrated and cost-effective manner.

I ALWAYS wanted a Spirograph when I was little. My cousin had one that she used to let me use sometimes. I loved drawing the swirly whirly patterns with red, green, blue & black ballpoint pens – often carefully colouring them in afterwards.

This vintage Denys Fisher set is for sale in support of OXFAM GB*

*Oxfam. What springs to mind? Charity shops and second-hand clothes? Africa? Think bigger. Much bigger. Last year, our emergency and development work reached a staggering 15 million people in 94 countries! Thanks to people like you.

vintage child's kitchen produced by Illco in the 1970s

This is the kind of toy I wished for back when I was a kid in the 1970s. I’d still be quite happy to get my hands on it today! This child’s Illco kitchen screams 1970s – I LOVE the bright yellow tiled splash-back. It’s battery operated, the lights and burners on the cooker illuminate, the blender is powered and there’s even running water for doing the washing up! 100% of the sale price goes to the British Heart Foundation* in Halifax.

*British Heart Foundation is the nation’s heart charity. We help save lives with information, patient care and pioneering research. With your support, we’re beating heart disease for good.
