Get their look: Curvaceous living space

Curvaceous living spacecredit

So much about this curvaceous living space is shapely, inviting and enveloping. I’m craving an indoor hammock!

The bright yellow Corian wraps around the room – twisting & turning – encompassing a kitchen counter, breakfast bar, desktop, shelving and window sill. This bright yellow scheme is picked up in the Bolon tiled floor.

The ceiling lighting is very sensuous and sci-fi – very reminiscent of the set of Space 1999!

Get their look: Four-poster bedroom

Four-poster bedroomcredit

One of the most sure-fire ways to give a bedroom a bit of pizazz is investing in a four-poster bed. This four-poster bedroom is living proof. It’s the property of fellow lifestyle blogger, Rohini Wahi whose website is The Beat That My Heart Skipped.

It’s a very stylish space, combining contemporary furnishings with vintage touches very successfully. The bed is the star of the show – complimented perfectly by the mid century style sideboard and bedside table in similar wood tones.

As you can see, I’m still having a bit of a love affair with yellow in interiors; this particular shade on the wall is India Yellow by Farrow & Ball.

Get their look: Cheery caravan

Cheery caravan belonging to Caro Davies of The Twinkle Diariescredit

This yellow-decorated, cheery caravan belongs to Caro Davies, owner of The Twinkle Diaries blog. Caro and her family have christened her Dolly Too (she replaced the original Dolly of whom they sadly grew out). Reading about Caro’s journey doing Dolly up and going off on adventures is really making us yearn for our own camper van.

We’ve been putting money aside and are getting close to our target now. She’s created a real ‘home from home’ with a distinct mid century modern flavour. It’s clean, practical and bright, yet very cosy too. A real inspiration – stylish spaces on wheels are perfectly possible. Hopefully we can achieve something similar ourselves… and head off into the proverbial sunset one day soon!

Get their look: Primary colours kitchen

Primary colours kitchencredit

You all know how much we love bright interiors, so it should come as no surprise that we’ve chosen to feature this kitchen decorated in bold, primary colours.

This is a family kitchen in a 1960s, ex-council, end-of-terrace house in Dulwich, London. It may not be the biggest of kitchens; but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in storage space. There’s a yellow, U-shaped bank of overhead and floor-standing cupboards. There’s a floor to ceiling room divider that offers double-sided open shelving. Even the end of the worktop has been turned into ingenious cookbook shelves!
