Price Points: Potato peelers

Potato peelers

Last Friday saw our final post in our Gimme Five! series. This week we’re starting a new one, Price Points, where we take a homeware, tech or fashion item and feature a budget example, a mid-range example and a deluxe example.

We thought about calling it ‘Budget, Better, Best’ but we all know that you don’t always get what you pay for – cheap can sometimes be good and ‘best’ can sometimes be anything but!

About 6 weeks ago, we wrote a blog post about some church candles that we’d been sent. A couple of our candleholders were a fraction too small for the candles to fit, so we used our potato peeler to shave off a little bit of the wax at the base. We’ve not been able to find the peeler since.

As the song goes, “You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone!”. I HATE peeling potatoes, carrots and apples with an ordinary knife. Peeling either takes ages trying to do it really carefully or you lose loads to the compost heap.
