We’ve recently picked up a number of vintage Royal Mail stamp presentation packs.
Most of ours date from the 1960s & 70s.
We might frame them as a group – there are some fantastic designs and illustrations amongst them.
We thought we’d share them with you!
Royal Mail release a few different sets every year – there’s a fabulous 2009 issue featuring British design classics that we’re thinking of adding to our little collection.
If you’re interested in seeing other vintage international stamp designs, grain edit have started a great mid-century modern sticker, label + stamp club on Flickr.
We’ve got two presentation packs to give away if you fancy starting your own collection – they are British Achievements in Chemistry and Post Office Technology
All you need to do is follow us on Twitter (if you’re not already) & send us a message letting us know that you’d like to receive them – we’ll choose a winner at random and message them on 12 May 2009.
My husband has lots of these as he used to collect stamps in his youth – we have them all upstairs somewhere!
PRETTY STAMPS! Here in The Netherlands stamps ussually just have the queens head… which, Im sorry to let her know, is not very amusing.
Looks like a fun place!
Happy blogoversary!
Thank you Teena!
