I love this bright, bold and funky, vintage-inspired illustration. She was created by Malika Favre, a London-based, French designer, for Wallpaper Magazine in 2009.

We discovered the work of Tomas King through a link on his daughter, Lucy‘s (a.k.a. Me Old China, a.k.a. The Bowerbird) blog. What can I say? Tomas is a hugely talented artist & illustrator – and, as the saying goes, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree – Lucy’s work is also incredibly covetable!

Autumn is well & truly here – what makes it special for me is the beautiful colour in the woods. The trees above are in Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, Michigan – aren’t they stunning?!

OK, I confess, I was a nerdy child that collected stamps (I consider Justin to be worse, he was a coin collector and they’re not nearly as colourful & beautiful as this!). They’re still packed away in a box in the loft somewhere.
This is one in a series of postage stamps from 1966, commemorating Yom Ha’atzmaut, the declaration of independence of Israel.
