It’s been AGES since we first featured West German ‘Fat Lava’ pottery on our blog. Good examples are getting harder & harder to stumble upon, they’ve become extremely popular and lots of people now collect them.

This lovely vintage Carstens vase is currently up for sale by & on behalf of British Heart Foundation*. It’s very pared back and muted compared to the often garish decoration you find on some pots. Don’t get us wrong, we love the garish, but it’s not to everyone’s taste!
