5 easy ideas for making your home warm and inviting

If you only have a small entrance hall to your home, it is a good idea to focus on the walls. A nice wallpaper or the addition of wall murals can make an invite to your home a fantastic experience. Take your time in choosing your wallpaper so it doesn’t take over your entrance area.

Do I need to put the wall mural directly on the wall? The answer to that question is no.

There are many different ways in which you can work with wall murals. One way is attaching them directly to the walls of your home. But, you don’t need to do that. When you want to use your wall murals as art work, invest in a couple of white canvases. Make sure that you choose your wall murals carefully. You don’t want them to be larger than your canvases. Measure the area that you would like to cover and cut out the wallpaper to fit. It is best to measure a couple of times to make sure that you get it right. You can use ordinary wallpaper glue or adhesive, or you can use a craft glue such as Mod Podge.

Once you have finished your project. cover the wallpapered area with a lacquer or acrylic spray to make sure that it lasts longer.

Use wallpaper on furniture

You can use wallpaper to cover furniture. If you do decide to have a go, it is a good idea to start with smaller projects. Once you have mastered them, move onto larger pieces of furniture such as coffee tables and perhaps living room tables.

When you use wallpaper in this way, it is important to prepare the area first of all. If you are going to use wallpaper on a side table, you need to sand it down first of all. Start with a heavy grade of sand paper and then finish it off with a much finer grade. The area that you’re going to wallpaper needs to be completely smooth.

Use the same method you used when you covered the bookcase or cupboard, and you’ll have your own unique piece of furniture.

Decorate the rest of your home

When you want to highlight the colour of your wallpaper or accent your wall murals, try to pick up one of the colours. For instance, if you have a splash of purple in your wallpaper, it’s a good idea to use purple in other décor items such as bedspreads, cushions and floor rugs. That way, you pick up on the colour and make your wallpaper stand out.
