Warmest wishes for the holiday season and good health & prosperity for 2016,

One of the real pleasures of Christmas is the foodstuffs that are once a year treats or distinctive to the season. Sometimes you pop them into your own festive shopping basket, and other times (even better) you’re given gifts that make your mouth water. Chocolates, cakes, relishes and the like… we’re getting excited! Here are a few favourite Christmas foodie gifts we found on Etsy.

This week, our online ordered presents have begun arriving with a knock at the door by the postman. I’m rubbish at hiding them until the big day so they generally get wrapped and put under the tree straight away in readiness for the big day.
We have a metallic, copper-coloured tree and we like our Christmas wrapping paper, ribbon and bows to coordinate (is that a sad thing to admit? 😐 ). We usually buy 3-metre rolls of plain brown paper; but looking online recently, we discovered that you can get a 35-metre roll for not much more!

Every year, I say that next year, I’m going to get my act together and make my own Christmas cards. Every year, Christmas rushes up on me and I’m busy with preparing & filing our tax returns, working, blogging, dog walking… and the home-made, hand-made cards never get done.
For a few consecutive years around a decade ago, I was really good at getting them made and posted off on time. Often times recently however, we’ve ended up having to rush and get packs of cards from shops on the high street. This year, we’re going to do the next best thing; home-made, hand-made Christmas cards from indie makers on Etsy.
Next year, I’m going to get my act together and make my own! 🙂
