What colour would you call it? Salmon? Terracotta? Dusky pink? I bet the colour matching in this tonal peach kitchen wasn’t easy to pull off – but it’s a success. Currently, colours that are all the rage in interiors tend to be black, white, grey, perhaps a deep green or a mustard. This palette choice is off the wall for the 2020s.

Gerdien, the Dutch owner of this Friesland home, painted plain pine IVAR cabinet doors in this bold hue provide one-of-a-kind kitchen décor. The background wall paint colour is a complementary, slightly lighter, shade of peach. Accessories such as the table clock and table lamp almost melt into the background, helping to eliminate any look of clutter. The trio of terrazzo hanging lights contrast nicely against the dusky tones.

Annie’s home is one of the best examples of DIY décor that I’ve seen on Instagram in a long time. She completely transforms previously unloved & unwanted furniture into eye-catching, desirable, one-of-a-kind items.

She uses a selection of sticky-backed patterned vinyl from Faye Jennifer Vinyl Design to cover tabletops and drawer fronts. For further customisation, she paints, gold leafs and changes up drawer pulls, knobs and handles.

Go check out the rest of her Instagram feed to see more DIY décor in her London home with personalised furniture, quirky lighting and brilliant music-themed wall art.

What’s not to love about this retro pastel kitchen diner? The sugared almond colours bring the space to life. Although candy pink is the dominant colour, the addition of chalky lemon, mint and white prevent it looking overly ‘girly’.

At first glance, the classic, mid-century look appears as though it would have been very expensive to achieve. With a bit of time, creativity and planning, you can create a lovely interior like this for less than you think.

The dining chairs are from Homebase and cost £100 per pair. A single Ercol Originals dining chair is over £300. Similarly, the Tulip table is a replica, a Knoll original will set you back almost $6,000.
