After the recent floods, we were offered the use of a dehumidifier by Calderdale Council. We’ve had it running now for about a week. We’re amazed at the amount of water it collects after just a few hours. We’re so impressed, in fact, that we’re considering buying one. We live in an old stone house that naturally soaks up water and releases it again slowly – a problem arises when it doesn’t stop raining for 2 months solid!!
A 20-litre example is what is recommended for a house the size of ours. All of the dehumidifiers we’ve short-listed have had good reviews, but we’re most drawn to the mid-range Meaco. It’s low energy and was Which?’s Best Buy back in 2014 – that definitely sells it to us!
