The colourful multifunctional family room above belongs to Evros and Susie Agathou, the owners of London-based Avocado Sweets Interior Design Studio. We first discovered them on Houzz and have followed their bright, often playful designs for quite a while.

They use a combination of vintage and contemporary furniture, creating spaces in which you want to live, work and play.

  1. Ceiling pendant lamps
  2. Cubit modular shelving

Open-plan family roomcredit

Isn’t this a lovely space? A bright, double-height, open-plan family room. Brilliant white floor, ceiling and walls with huge windows and sliding doors that flood the place with light and bring the outside in without compromising on privacy.

The blank white scheme comes to life with the addition of seating, artwork and other accessories in bright primary colours.

The room is successfully ‘zoned’ – a grown-up, quiet sitting & reading area at one end with the communal area off the kitchen where the family come together to sit eat, entertain and do homework.

  1. Marimekko ‘Unikko’ fabric
  2. Light shades
  3. Notice board
  4. Balzac armchair
  5. Robin Day polypropylene side chair
  6. Extendible dining table
