Manfred Reiss (1922–1987) was a London-based graphic designer who is primarily known for his poster designs. He produced advertising material for BOAC, BEA, Post Office Savings Bank and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). At one time, he worked as an assistant to fellow German-born poster designer, FHK Henrion.
Reiss wrote and illustrated the children’s book, Flying the Atlantic published by Abelard Schuman in 1955. Vintage copies are currently available on Amazon and Abe Books. He designed the publicity poster for Against the Wind, a 1948 WW2 film which starred Simone Signoret, Jack Warner and Robert Beatty.
Original posters of his designs sometimes come up for sale on 1stDibs.
