We need to create ourselves a space in our house where we move from ‘dirty’ to ‘clean’… outdoors to indoors; this boot & storage room is the kind of thing we’re aiming to achieve.
It’s the place where we’d change out of our wet coats and muddy wellies into our tent mules and fluffy jumpers. It’s also the ideal area to hang bags-for-life, umbrellas, rucksacks, dog leads & poo bags and to store overflow firewood for the stoves.
Katie’s boot room has been ingeniously created using upcycled used apple crates (she credits her dad with making them). We already use apple crates as storage in our kitchen, and have a ready supply from a local hardware store.
