Décor trends come, go and come back around again. Remember when magnolia walls were the thing? And then it was dark grey and nearly black. We reckon that bright colours are on the horizon, just waiting to be the in thing again.
After the years of austerity and the onset of Covid-19, we all need a bit of cheering up; we predict that colour block furniture is going to increase in popularity. Colour blocking is the practice of using contrasting colours side by side or diagonally against each other.
Colours that work best are the ones opposite each other on the colour wheel; lemon yellow and violet, lime green and magenta etc. You could even consider using just black and white and the shades in between for colour block décor.
Use colour block furniture in rooms with plain walls, ceilings and floors; busy, patterned wallpaper and rugs will over-stimulate the visual senses. If you don’t feel confident using something as large as a sofa, smaller objects such as cushions can introduce the look successfully.
