Elayne Fallon Circus

Ladies & gentlemen, boys & girls… please let us introduce a fabulous display of animals, carriages, lion tamers, strong men and clowns! What a lovely way to start the day – breakfast served on this cheery crockery!

They’re from the ‘Circus’ range designed by Elayne Fallon for Staffordshire Potteries Ltd in the 1960s/70s.

This little set comprises mug, cereal bowl, egg cup and plate – everything you might need!

The pieces are dinky, but not miniature – so whilst they’re no doubt intended for children, there’s certainly no reason why us grown ups can’t enjoy our egg and soldiers served on them too!

Vintage birthday

These colourful vintage birthday cards brightened up a grey day as we wandered around the Thursday flea market stalls in Todmorden this week.

They’re all unused and look to date from the 1950s. Each card features a different animal with a little rhyme inside. They’re all very cute!

We’ll probably put them into the shop priced individually, but if you fancy buying them as a collection, just drop us a line.

Housing Stock

These were an interesting little buy last week.

A group of three vintage handmade toy houses.

They’re constructed of ply around a solid block of wood – then painted.

We’re not sure when they date from, although they obviously have a bit of age – 1940s/50s probably.

We love these naive toys and folk art.

Probably made by dad or grandad for a young child… very sweet!

New kids on the block

The new shop department we’ve been promising is up & running. Childs Play has a mixture of traditional toys & games…

…and furniture such as desks, chairs and blackboards.

Here’s our most recent acquisition – a fab 1960s cot.
