vintage 1950s/60s Formica sideboard for sale by & in support of British Heart Foundation(ends 15 Jan, 2015 20:01:57 GMT)

Vintage, free-standing kitchen furniture & fittings always go down well on our Charity Vintage series so we thought we’d highlight this 1950s/60s Formica sideboard.

It’s a great colour – a lovely soft yellow, however it’s in need of a good clean and spruce up. This is reflective in it’s starting price which is only £39.99.

It measures 940mm high x 1580mm wide x 540mm deep and has oodles of useful storage space and work surface. It’s for sale by a British Heart Foundation* charity shop based in Bradford – which is fairly local to us. Unfortunately we just don’t have the room in our Picture House Antiques pitch at the moment or we’d be interested ourselves!

We’ve featured a few vintage 1950s teak sideboards in our Charity Vintage series in the past and they’ve proved popular with our blog visitors.

The two sideboards pictured above are a little bit unusual. They’re more 60s Mod than 50s Mid-century Modern. They’re being sold by different sellers, but are both made by H Lait & Sons. There hasn’t been anything by this maker on eBay for AGES but, like buses… you know the rest!

The lot (top photo) consisting of sideboard, table & chairs is being sold by & on behalf of Age UK East Sussex*. It’s offered as ‘buy it now’ £220.00 (also open to offers).

The sideboard on its own (bottom photo) is being sold by & on behalf of Bolton Community Transport & Furniture Services* and currently has had one bid of £45.

Both items are listed as buyer to collect. However, BCTF offers a free delivery service if you’re located within a 5 mile road journey of Bolton town centre.

This vintage William Lawrence sideboard is for sale this week in support of St Vincent Support Centre*. They always have lots of quality vintage items on sale (we’ve featured their items a fair few times) so if you’re in & around the Leeds area it’s a good idea to add them to your eBay ‘favourite sellers’.

A vintage teak sideboard always looks magnificent in a sitting room. It’s a really useful piece of furniture – great for storage and showing off your vintage glass or pottery collections.

*St Vincent’s is part of the international charity, the St Vincent de Paul Society, and exists to promote self-sufficiency by building bridges of support and creating opportunities that enhance the quality of life for those deprived of income, employment, education, social networks and community support.
