Homemakers Community Recycling* is currently selling this lovely little vintage, floor-standing 50s kitchen cupboard. Its ‘buy it now’ price of £30 is very fair but they’re open to offers. And, if your not local to Abergavenny and/or you’re not able to collect, they’re happy to arrange delivery with Abbey Couriers (who we’ve used in the past and are very happy to recommend).

We regularly feature 50s kitchen cupboards on our Charity Vintage series. They’re very popular, we love vintage free-standing kitchen units, they’re practical, attractive, built to last and importantly – very affordable! This week, we’re featuring a vintage Fleetway cupboard. It’s a really versatile, practical piece of furniture – perfect for kitchen storage. It’s in good condition and could be improved by being waxed or given a sanding down and a coat or two of paint.

The cupboard is solid wood with a white enamel top and is for sale, ‘buyer to collect’ by Emmaus Oxford*. It has a starting bid of only £30.

*Emmaus Oxford is a self-supporting community that tackles the problems of “homelessness” by offering people a home, work, and a sense of belonging. Companions, as residents are called, regain dignity, build self-esteem and learn skills through living together and working on the Community’s recycling business and charitable work

Vintage, free-standing kitchen furniture & fittings always go down well on our Charity Vintage series so we thought we’d highlight this 1950s/60s Formica sideboard.

It’s a great colour – a lovely soft yellow, however it’s in need of a good clean and spruce up. This is reflective in it’s starting price which is only £39.99.

It measures 940mm high x 1580mm wide x 540mm deep and has oodles of useful storage space and work surface. It’s for sale by a British Heart Foundation* charity shop based in Bradford – which is fairly local to us. Unfortunately we just don’t have the room in our Picture House Antiques pitch at the moment or we’d be interested ourselves!

Our kitchen is, for the most part, free-standing. We have a couple of overhead, wall mounted cupboards and the sink unit is housed in a fitted unit with doors beneath. Other than that, we have open shelves, a couple of butcher’s blocks, food safe and a 1950s kitchenette.

This vintage, free-standing kitchen cupboard with enamel top is being sold by & in support of North Devon Hospice*. It’s just the kind of thing we’d have in our house. A pair of drawers for storing the cutlery and below double doors to shelves for plates. It needs a little cosmetic work – a good clean and new paper or oil cloth lining for the drawers and shelves. The opening bid is £75 and the buyer must collect.
