vintage Juliette Belarti coffee table for sale on eBay for Charity in support of St Vincent Support Centre
(ends 9 Nov, 2013 12:56:26 GMT)

This stunning vintage 1960s coffee table was designed by Belgian artist, Juliette Belarti and is one of the best examples of her work we’ve ever seen! We love the orange abstract design on the tiled top.

It’s being sold by St Vincent Support Centre*, one of the charities we seem to feature quite regularly on Charity Vintage (we really must get over there for a visit!)

Its “buy it now” price is £375, but they’re open to offers. They quote delivery to London (from their base in Leeds) at around a very reasonable £40.

*St Vincent’s is part of the international charity the St Vincent de Paul Society and exists to promote self-sufficiency by building bridges of support and creating opportunities that enhance the quality of life for those deprived of income, employment, education, social networks and community support. They offer a wide range of services to people who need it most, including free debt advice, counselling, free adult learning and volunteering/training placements for unemployed and adults with special needs.

Lost property boxes

New bedside tables were required for the east wing of H is for Home Mansions. We’d actually been on the look out for a couple of vintage wooden crates for a few months without success. And then we spied these two lovely boxes at the Thursday flea market – bingo!!

They’re old, lost property boxes from a railway station. Constructed from fibre board with leather & metal trim – and beautiful stencilled numbers.

The butler has installed them in the master suite. They’re just the right kind of age & style for linking up vintage/retro with country antiques – a common theme throughout our house. We love them – and at £15.00 the pair they’re the buy of the month!

We bought it at auction this week, but didn’t actually see it in the flesh until we picked it up. We weren’t disappointed, though, as the condition was very good and the grain of the wood is lovely.

Such a classic 1950s look and a really useful little side table for the lounge – great for our photo shoots & staging too!

This would normally leave us with the conundrum – sell or keep?…

…but we had no such problem this time, as the auction price was for a pair!
