Different ways log cabins can make your outdoor space more functional

When it comes to creating extra space in your home, many people immediately think of expanding their existing home. But what if I told you that there is another, more cost-effective option to make your outdoor space more functional? Log Cabins offer a great way to add extra space to your home without having to do any major construction work. In this post, we’ll discuss several ways in which Log Cabins can make your outdoor space more functional.

Home gym

It’s no secret that regular exercise is important for our health and well-being. But sometimes it can be hard to find the motivation to go to the gym, especially if you have a busy lifestyle. With a Log Cabin, you can create your own home gym, giving you the freedom to work out at any time of the day. You can furnish the cabin with fitness equipment such as a treadmill, weights and a yoga mat, with Tuin.co.uk log cabins a personal gym is at your fingertips.

Home office

With the rise of flexible working and working from home, the need for a quiet and organised workspace has increased. A Log Cabin can be transformed into a stylish and functional home office. You can furnish it with a desk, comfortable chairs and enough storage space for all your work necessities. A separate workspace can also help keep work and home separate, allowing you to be more productive.

Storage space

If your home is too small to store all your stuff, a Log Cabin can be the perfect solution. You can use it as extra storage space for bikes, garden tools, seasonal decorations and more. By storing your things outside your home, you create more space and keep your home organised and tidy.

Tip: Take a look at Tuin.co.uk, where you’ll find a wide range of log cabins.

Sitting area

A Log Cabin can also serve as a cosy seating area in your garden. You can furnish it with comfortable chairs, a table and maybe even a small kitchenette. It is the perfect place to relax with a good book, enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning sun, or invite friends and family over for a fun-filled barbecue. With a Log Cabin, you can enjoy your outdoor space all year round, whatever the weather.

Music studio

If you have a passion for music, a Log Cabin can be transformed into your own music studio. You can soundproof it, add instruments and recording equipment and have a private space where you can practice, compose and record without worrying about noise pollution for others. A music studio in your own garden is every musician’s dream.

It’s been a record-breaking hot, dry summer for the most part this year. Instagram is full of gorgeous images of outdoor spaces – and this decked clapboard patio is one of them.

It just shows that you don’t need a whole lot of room to create an outdoor space that is attractive and usable. The weathered wooden planks used on the ground, walls and overhead bring the whole area together. The matte metal accessories such as the storm lamp, hanging planter and bird cage give a utilitarian feel. The yellow painted rattan table & chairs are weather-resistant so can stay outdoors all year. It’s much easier just having to bring in the cushions and throw; even the reversible rug can stand up to the doubtless rainy days to come.

Kids playroom

Our first idea for a shed conversion is to turn it into a playroom for your children. Give your shed a clean or invest in a nice, new steel building from Armstrong Steel (you can find all you need to know about estimate costs in the linked article) and ask your kids how they want it to be decorated. Get them to choose the toys that they’d like to keep in the playroom and add a toy chest so that you can keep it tidy. Make sure to put down comfortable flooring to ensure that they don’t hurt themselves when they’re playing.

Home cinema

Another great idea for converting your shed is to turn it into a home cinema. All you need to do is invest in a projector and create a white wall on to which you can project your favourite. Scatter some blankets and cushions and you and your kids can spend time together watching movies in your back garden. Make sure to add a snack bar for added effect.

Woman painting in an art studio

Art studio

If you or your children fancy a bit of art and crafts every now and then, why not turn your shed into an outdoor art studio? You can add some easels, store your paint on shelves on the walls and get to creating some masterpieces. Your kids will love having a place that they can get messy and make some amazing paintings. This way, you won’t have to worry about getting art materials all over your furniture and carpets. Art is important in a child’s development so make sure to include it in their home life.

Grey shed with a thatched roof

Quiet room

For those parents who feel they need a place of quiet and calm, you could convert your shed into a quiet room. This can be your meditation space and you can fill it with excellent mood lighting, candles and soft music. You could make it an adults only space or you could encourage your children to spend some quiet time in this room when they need it.

Shed with porch

Homework room

Our final idea for a shed conversion is to turn it into a homework room that can be used by all members of the family. All you need to do is get some good lighting and a few desks and soon you’ll have a fun space for your kids to get their homework done. Homework is boring but having a dedicated space to do it in can turn it into an activity rather than a chore. Make sure to try this out and get creative with your shed!
