vintage 1950s Midwinter Stylecraft coffee set for sale on eBay for Charity by & on behalf of Lindsey Lodge Hospice(ends 21 Aug, 2014 20:37:49 BST)

This 1950s Midwinter Stylecraft coffee set is definitely something very special! We can’t seem to find any images or reference to the pattern online or in our vintage pottery books. That makes it a pretty rare thing! The coffee set consists of 6 cups & saucer with coffee pot all in very good condition. This fabulous mid-century modern set is up for sale by Lindsey Lodge Hospice* based over in Scunthorpe.

Its starting bid is only £4.50, and surprisingly no one has had a punt yet. What are you waiting for? Get over there and bid!

*Lindsey Lodge Hospice exists to provide a range of specialist services to people with cancer and other life limiting conditions in North Lincolnshire. They aim to enhance the quality of life and to support the patients and those who are dear to them.

Charity Vintage: Dolly Days coffee set

Dolly Days coffee set for sale on eBay for Charity by & in support of Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice(ends 18 May, 2014 21:06:47 BST)

We’ve been lucky enough to have had a couple of these Dolly Days coffee sets since we’ve been trading. We picked up the first one in a charity shop in Bexhill-on-Sea about 8 years ago – before we even had a shop! We sold it in 2008 to a lovely lady who bought it as a present. Here’s the lovely story she told us:

It was the first set that my grandparents bought when they got married, unfortunately over time, many pieces have been broken so I am buying this set (which is the only one I have found) as a 50th wedding anniversary gift for them.

This Dolly Days set is being sold on eBay for Charity by & on behalf of Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice*. The starting bid is £49.99 and surprisingly there’ve been no bids yet. Dolly Days was manufactured by Hostess Tableware in 1960s. The pattern designed by John Russell, who was also designed the Black Velvet range.

*The Hospice provides specialist palliative care to those suffering with a life threatening illness via in-patient support, day care, various clinics including Lymphodema and breathlessness along with bereavement support, at no charge to the patient or carers.

J & G Meakin "Applewood" coffee pot and cup & saucer set

We picked up some of this fabulous vintage crockery this week. It’s one of our favourite designs with the sylised leaves & sliced apples.

It’s only a part set, but that doesn’t really matter. We can either sell it as individual items or put it into our store cupboard to wait for the other pieces to complete the set. We’ve got lots of odd pieces waiting to make into sets!!!

Orange objects really catch the eye. It enables them to shout loudly in a collection of other brightly coloured pieces.

Alternatively, it’s perfect as a highlight colour within a muted décor or against natural materials.

We’ve given a few different chairs the orange treatment!

We did a G is for… Garden blog post a couple of months ago having just planted out some annuals. Our French marigolds are doing well with all the sunshine & showers we’ve been having.
