Win a Waverley pattern cushion

The Bulloch Collection Waverley cushions by Sarah Jane Hemsley Upholstery

Happy St David’s Day everyone! Spring is finally upon us – we’ve spent most of this sunny weekend working and relaxing in the garden.

This month, we have a nautical cushion (worth £66.00, feather pad included) in Sarah Jane Hemsley‘s Waverley pattern to give away to one of our readers. The range is inspired by the world’s last remaining seagoing paddle steamer that sails from the Firth of Clyde. In fact, Sarah Jane donates 10% of her sales to the Navigation Co Ltd toward the ongoing maintenance of PS Waverley.

The Bulloch Collection is my new range of digitally printed designs primarily for textiles. Each design is based on a land or seascape of the Isle of Bute, my childhood home, which sits just off the west coast of Scotland. The artwork is taken from original screen printed ink drawings by local artist and family friend, Lyn Bulloch.

Lois cushion in orange plaid from Made.com | H is for Home

We bought two gorgeous vintage leather club chairs recently. They were looking a bit tired, but have cleaned up beautifully. We polished the leather, recovered the old seat pads in Hessian sacking – and have now found the perfect cushion just to complete the look.

We received this Lois cushion in orange plaid from Made.com this week. The overall red/orange appearance works perfectly with the rich chestnut brown leather, whilst the subtle touches of green & blue in the tartan pick up on the lettering in the Hessian sacking.

The fabric is very good quality and we’re also happy with the finishing in terms of stitching, zips etc. The cushion combines tradition with modernity which is just what we were after. We’ve put one of the chairs next to the window (and bookshelf) in our main bedroom. The perfect spot for a quiet – and now very comfortable read.

Orange has the wonderful ability to look warm & cosy in the winter or lively & fresh in the summer.

Orange objects really catch the eye. It enables them to shout loudly in a collection of other brightly coloured pieces.

Alternatively, it’s perfect as a highlight colour within a muted décor or against natural materials.

We’ve given a few different chairs the orange treatment!

We did a G is for… Garden blog post a couple of months ago having just planted out some annuals. Our French marigolds are doing well with all the sunshine & showers we’ve been having.
